This page explains how Canadapedia24 guides are written, checked and corrected. In short: we rely on official Canadian sources, every guide shows a "last verified" date, benefit amounts are reviewed every quarter, and confirmed errors are fixed as soon as we confirm them. Content is written and reviewed by the Canadapedia24 editorial team.
Our source hierarchy
When we describe a process, an amount or an eligibility rule, we take it from the highest available source, in this order:
- The federal government: canada.ca, including Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Provincial governments: such as ontario.ca and quebec.ca, for health, education, driver's licences and provincial benefits.
- Official agencies: such as professional licensing bodies, transport ministries and housing authorities.
Forums, social media and other publishers are never our source for an official fact.
Verification and "last verified" dates
Before publication, a member of the editorial team checks every figure, date and condition against the official source, and that source is linked in the guide. Each guide shows a "last verified" date: the last day we reviewed the whole page against its sources. If we cannot confirm something from an official source, we leave it out or say clearly that it is unconfirmed.
Update schedule
- Benefit amounts and tax thresholds: reviewed every quarter.
- On official announcements: when an authority announces a change to an amount, a rule or a date, we update the affected pages and their "last verified" date.
- On reader reports: we check the point against its source and update it if it is wrong.
Notable changes are listed on our updates page.
Tools and calculators
Our calculators, such as the take-home pay calculator and the CRS score calculator, apply officially published rules to the numbers you enter. The result is an estimate for planning. The official decision rests with the relevant authority. Prayer times are calculated astronomically for each city centre using the ISNA method (Fajr and Isha at 15°) and may differ slightly from your mosque's timetable; follow your local mosque.
Limits of what we offer
Our topics affect status, money and taxes, so we keep to these limits:
- We are not licensed immigration consultants (RCIC), lawyers or accountants. Our content is general information, not advice.
- We do not assess individual files or submit applications to any government on your behalf.
- We do not promise approval, a job, a passing score or a specific benefit amount.
- We always send you to the official source to confirm before you apply or pay.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools at some stages of our work, for example to suggest a first draft, organise notes or help translate between our three languages. No guide is published until a member of the editorial team has reviewed it and checked every figure, date and condition against the official source. We never treat an AI tool as a source of facts. The editorial team is responsible for everything published on the site.
Corrections
If you find an error, email [email protected] or use our contact page. Include the page link, the correct information and a link to the official source. We usually reply within two business days. When an error is confirmed:
- We correct the page and update its "last verified" date.
- If the error concerned an amount, a deadline or an eligibility rule, we add a dated note at the bottom of the page saying what changed.
- We check the same fact on related pages in all three languages.
Advertising and editorial independence
The site is funded by Google AdSense advertising and by featured listings in the business directory. Funding is kept separate from editorial decisions:
- No advertiser can pay to be mentioned in a guide or to change its content.
- We do not choose the ads Google shows, and an ad is not an endorsement. Learn how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- If we add affiliate links in the future, the page will disclose them clearly, and they will not change our assessment or the order in which options are listed.
Business directory policy
- Data source: most listings come from OpenStreetMap under the ODbL licence (© OpenStreetMap contributors); the rest are added by business owners.
- Free listings: owners can add their business on the submission page. Every submission is reviewed by hand before approval.
- Featured listings are ads: they carry a "Featured" badge and an "Ad" label and pass the same review. Details on the featured listing page.
- A listing is not a recommendation: we have not tested or vetted the businesses listed. Check licences yourself, especially for immigration consultants.
- Corrections and removal: owners can ask us to correct or remove their listing through the contact page.
